Bearcat Celebration Month kicks off

Posted on April 2nd, 2018

The School District of the City of York is pleased to announce the first annual Bearcat Celebration Month kicking off with a Battle of the Bearcat Buildings taking place Wednesday April 4th at 6 p.m. at the William Penn Gymnasium.

Staff and faculty representing their school buildings will compete in “Minute to Win It” style games in front of cheering sections comprised of students and families who choose to attend this free event.  The William Penn Class of 2018 will be selling T-shirts to dress cheering sections with their respective building colors.

We encourage all supporters of education, children, and Bearcats to attend.

The City of York will be filtering selected neighborhood street lamps in the City with orange and blue coloring for the month of April.  Supporting small businesses will be displaying orange or blue exterior lighting.

The month will conclude with a Bearcats Coming Home formal family affair for all ages.  The event will be a cabaret and dance party for the Bearcat community of current students and staff, as well as alumni and past staff.  These initiatives are to celebrate the successes of the school district’s 2017 PVASS scores, and to rally the students, staff, and community for 2018 testing season.
