District offers free English and citizenship classes to parents/guardians

The School District of the City of York is offering free classes to students’ parents/guardians who want to learn English as a second language or study to become a U.S. citizen.

Pre-registration is required for all classes. Child care will be provided on site.

For fall 2018, the district is offering English as a second language classes through the following schedule:

  • Mondays and Tuesdays at Jackson K-8, 177 E. Jackson St.
    Sept. 10 to Oct. 30 — 5 to 6:30 p.m.

  • Mondays and Wednesdays at Devers K-8, 801 Chanceford Ave.
    Sept. 17 to Dec. 12 — 5:30 to 7 p.m.
    Register by contacting Sandra Rojas at (717) 819-2290 or Elodia Barajas at (717) 600-6365.
  • Saturdays at District Administration, 31 N. Pershing Ave.
    Starts Sept. 15 — 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    Register by contacting Elodia Barajas at (717) 600-6365.

For fall 2018, the district is offering citizenship classes through the following schedule:

  • Saturdays at District Administration, 31 N. Pershing Ave.
    Starts Sept. 15 — 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    Class offered in English and Spanish
