KinderCamp for Kindergarten, first grade students starts July 9

Posted on June 26th, 2018

The parents/guardians of all district students entering Kindergarten and first grade are invited to sign up for KinderCamp at Hannah Penn K-8.

York City teachers have designed this free program to prepare students for the upcoming school year. For example, students will learn about following directions and positive social interactions.

Kindergarten students will practice academic skills such as letter and number sounds, writing and recognizing their name, shapes, colors and calendar concepts. First graders will review those skills as well as be introduced to first-grade sight words and basic math skills.

During their time in camp, students will be provided breakfast and lunch.

This three-week camp is open to all district students entering Kindergarten or first grade. Camp will be held four days each week (Monday through Thursday) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hannah Penn K-8, 415 E. Boundary Ave., on the following dates:

July 9 to July 12

July 16 to July 19

July 23 to July 26

Registration is required. Open registration will be held at Hannah Penn K-8 from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Monday, July 2 and Tuesday, July 3.
