Local church volunteers to transform Devers halls

Posted on January 25th, 2017

Many volunteers of the LCBC congregation donated their time and energy around the recent holiday to make many need changes to the hallways at Devers K-8.

Pastor Paul Atkinson organized the event and provided the school with a makeover that surprised staff, parents and students when they arrived back to the building.

Above each classroom doorway, there is now a PRIDE paw print showing the components of character that our students are expected to demonstrate each day.  Also, large Bearcat prints are evident as you enter the school and walk the hallways.

“It is such a powerful change, as we have transitioned from Lions to Bearcats,” said Craig Linn, principal at Devers. “We needed a makeover – because we had Lion prints and ROAR signs that are now a part of our past. The new displays help our staff and students to truly adopt the concept of Bearcat PRIDE.”

Devers thanks LCBC and Pastor Paul for the hard work and courage to make these great changes. We appreciate the relationship we have, and will continue to foster that throughout the years.
