Register now for the 2017-18 After School Program!
The School District of the City of York, through a partnership with Martin Library, offers a free After School Program in all K-8 buildings for students in grades K-8.
Registration for the 2017-18 school year is under way!
The After School Program begins promptly at 3:45 p.m. with a snack for the students, followed by an enrichment period from 4 to 6 p.m. The program ends each evening with dinner from 6 to 6:30 p.m. Tutoring is also provided.
Activities during the enrichment period are different every day and are planned by the site coordinator at each building. Some programming opportunities include Leap Into Science, STEM education, cultural heritage education, yoga, dance, gardening, photography, theater, creative writing, cosmetology, character education, Bricks for Kids, Girls Scouts and Boy Scouts.
The After School Program will kick off the 2017-18 school year with an orientation session for parents and students Tuesday, Sept. 5 from 4 to 5 p.m. The full program for students will begin the following day, Wednesday, Sept. 6.
Parents/guardians must register their children ahead of time. Applications are available in the main office of each K-8 school. You can also download one by clicking here.
Once completed registrations have been received by the after school staff, parents will receive an acceptance letter. Parents/guardians can also get in touch with the program manager, Jackie Dell-Shearer, at (717) 849-6956 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
During the week of Aug. 28-Sept. 1, After School Program staff will be available in the main office of each school during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal times to answer questions and help parents/guardians fill out applications.
