School District Of The City Of York

Volunteers needed to serve as liaisons between schools and families

Posted on September 14th, 2018

The School District of the City of York is looking for parents/guardians to serve as liaisons between our schools and our students’ families. We have openings at the following buildings: Davis K-8, Devers K-8, STEAM Academy and Jackson K-8.

These volunteers facilitate communication between parents and school administrators. They help to plan meetings and work to include all stakeholders.

The Parent-School Liaison is bilingual or works closely with bilingual staff to ensure that all parents are given timely, adequate and appropriate notice of all meetings, programs, initiatives and news from the school and the district.

The Parent-School Liaison works with the District Parent Liaison to ensure that any parent who has expressed an interest in becoming more involved at the school is contacted. The Parent-School Liaison also works with the District Parent Liaison in networking between schools and at the district level on parent outreach activities.

Clearances are required to volunteer in this capacity.
