COVID-19 Timely Case Updates

At this time two positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed at McKinley K-8 school building.

Federal health privacy laws prohibit us from releasing more information about these employees. We understand the severity of this situation and have begun to take all the necessary steps in conjunction with our local health officials to ensure the safety of the building.

At the direction of our local health officials, all employees and students who came in contact with the individual have been notified directly. If a person was not notified, they did not come in contact with the individual.

To our understanding, the case has been contained to their home school building. We are vigilant about working with local health officials to investigate all reported or possible cases of COVID-19. The school building has been and will continue to be thoroughly disinfected and follow all cleaning guidelines outlined by CDC and our state health officials. Further, as a precautionary action, the school building will be closed until Friday, October 23, 2020, and will reopen on Monday, October 26, 2020. Students will still be able to pick-up a Breakfast and Lunch from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the school building.  Since 90% of our instruction is occurring virtually at this time, learning will continue virtually for our students.
