Davis K – 8

Meet the Principals

Mindy Sweitzer

I am excited and honored to welcome everyone to Phineas Davis K–8 for the 2018-19 school year!

The dedicated staff at Phineas Davis K–8 serves about 600 students in Pre-K to 8th grade. In addition to our core subjects, students receive a 60-minute encore which includes physical education, music, Spanish and art.  Our students have many support services within the building including reading support (SFA intervention), focused math, guidance, instructional support services, hearing itinerant services, gifted and learning support services and physical/occupational therapy.

As always, we welcome parents/guardians to our school. We believe that building relationships with our parents/guardians allows us to provide a better relationship and experience for your student’s education. Along with building relationships with parents, we also encourage our parents to participate and volunteer in their student’s classroom activities as well as other programs at the school.  Getting involved here at the school is a great way to help support your child and their education. Other ways that you can help support your student throughout the school year includes talking with them about their day, checking their nightly homework folder, and preparing them the night before for the next day at school.

I am exhilarated to be part of our Davis team. As a team, we invite everyone who is involved within our students’ lives to join our family here at Davis. Please feel free to contact me at any time with any concerns, suggestions or other matters you would like brought to my attention. I look forward to getting to know and working with your children.
