Hannah Penn K – 8
In partnership with the United Way’s Big Brother Big Sister program and York College, Hannah Penn offers a one-on-one mentoring program to address students’ need for positive role models. Volunteers from York College meet students after school every Tuesday and work with teachers and parents to provide academic support and a stable relationship.
The Friendship Connection project from Penn State offers help to second and third graders in need of improved social skills. In small groups and pairs, students build their friendship skills. Data shows the participating children experience increase in skills related to making friends and an increase in the development of self-control skills.
During the 2016-2017 school year, Hannah Penn is proud to share it has created a partnership with Grace Fellowship Church Pastor Bob Tome, who provides additional opportunities for students and family to be successful. Through these partnerships we look forward to continuing to build a relationship to help support the needs and success of our students.
