Five STEAM students selected as finalists in art competition
Earlier this fall, students of the Edgar Fahs Smith STEAM Academy were recognized for their artistic talents at the YCASE Art Walk.
More than 200 pieces from local high school students were displayed, including 12 creations of STEAM students. Of those 12, five STEAM students were selected for the finalist exhibition (along with 73 students from other high schools).
Awards were given to 20 students, and two STEAM students were among them! Sherley Gonzalez Lomeli and Yarinet Medina Alvarado were both selected for a juried art prize.
They each were given a certificate and a $50 gift certificate to the Appell Center for the Performing Arts!
