In honor of March being Music In Our Schools Month, Smith STEAM Academy’s monthly STEAM challenge was centered around music technology! Pre-K-1st grade students took turns rotating through music technology stations. 2nd-4th grade students learned the Boom Snap Clap rhythmic game and then recorded the pattern in Groove Pizza, an online drum sequencer which encourages students to make connections between math and music using shapes. 5th-8th grade students were tasked with designing their own playable instrument by drawing it and then connecting it to Makey Makey, a resistive touch board. It was a fun time for all!
