"Greetings Bearcat community, this is this week's take five, and we are going to talk about our budget first. There is still time to let your voices be heard on November 19th. We have our virtual listen and learn where you can come and let us know what you think should be in our budget for the 25-26 school year. That link will be on the website. We hope you will come and be a part of our process, and let your voice be heard about the budget. As we usher into the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday, we want to prioritize health as a community. In the School District of the City of York we have started a Bearcat Balance initiative, and one of the things we like to do here around the holidays is a maintain don't gain Initiative. So as we think about the potato salad and all the wonderful sides and meats that go with the holiday meal, we also need to think about prioritizing our health. And we want to encourage you to maintain your weight and not gain over the holidays. So I challenge you Bearcat community to work with us and maintain and not gain.
On November 20th, we will be hosting a fall family resource fair at William Penn Senior High School between 2:00 and 5:00 PM please join us for all of the wonderful vendors and resources for you and your family. Be on the lookout for some wonderful things coming down the pike with instruction. We all know research tells us, students that read succeed and we are excited to be able to provide some resources to help promote reading in the School District of the City of York.
We are always looking for good talent in the School District of the City of York. Please visit our website frequently to see what our current openings are; they're updated weekly. We have several openings in the special education department as well as in the general education department. Please come be a part of our family."
