November is National Entrepreneurship Month!

This month’s STEAM challenge at Smith STEAM Academy was centered around Invention Convention. Students in each grade were tasked with creating, testing, and improving various inventions that would be useful in society.

This past weekend, the William Penn Performing Arts Institute brought Stephen Garvey’s “Um, I Think the Psych Teacher Is Dead” to life with incredible energy, talent, and heart!

Today, Lieutenant General Jerry Carter, Deputy Commandant, United States Marine Corps (USMC) and proud York High Class of 1983 graduate — returned to William Penn Senior High School to tour the school and speak with our JROTC Cadre, Cadets and student body.

During his Leadership Talk, Lieutenant General Carter shared his personal journey and experiences as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Military, inspiring our Bearcats to lead with integrity, dedication, and Bearcat Pride.🐾

The SDCY Faith-Based Leaders Group is excited to host our 2025 Winter Drive to support our school communities! We’re collecting hats, gloves, scarves, and socks to help keep our Bearcats warm this season. 🧤🧦 Donations will be accepted now through Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

If you are interested in donating any winter clothing items, please drop your donations off at the Central Administration building located at 31 North Pershing Avenue, York, PA 17401.
