Celebrating Our Foster Grandparents!
We are proud to recognize the incredible volunteers of the Foster Grandparent Program who were recently honored at a special appreciation luncheon!
These dedicated individuals give their time, hearts, and wisdom to support students at Devers PreK-8, Ferguson PreK-8, Goode PreK-8, Hannah Penn PreK-8, Jackson PreK-8, and McKinley PreK-8. From helping with reading, writing, and math to offering encouragement and care, their presence makes a lasting impact in our classrooms.

An amazing group of teachers at McKinley PreK-8 recently hosted PSSA Boot Camp, with over 30 students in attendance. Students in grades 3-8 participated in strategy practice, collaborative discussions, movement activities, partner work, and overall preparation to build their success for the PSSA tests!

Ferguson PreK-8 took center stage at our School Board Committee meeting on Monday evening with a fantastic presentation, showcasing what makes their program special, sharing data, and highlighting student and staff support.

Bearcat Families: This is an important reminder about the upcoming Spring Break. There will be no school for students and staff from Monday, April 14, 2025 to Monday, April 21, 2025. All district offices and buildings will be closed. Students and staff will return to school on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Thank you.
Mrs. Marli Austin's PreK class at Ferguson PreK-8 recently visited Mrs. Patterson's Kindergarten room to listen to "Cat in the Hat", "Green Eggs and Ham", and "Fox in Socks". The young Bearcats enjoyed making green eggs, green ham, and green waffles and then voting on whether they liked it by adding their green egg to the chart.

As National March into Literacy Month comes to an end, our younger Bearcats at Smith STEAM Academy were filled with excitement as they recently received a special read aloud from several 8th grade students and community members.
