Dear Parents/Guardians,
We hope this message finds you well. We are writing to inform you of an exciting new initiative at Bearcat Cyber Academy (BCA) for our high school students in grades 9 through 12. In our ongoing effort to enhance personalized learning and academic support, we are introducing a Mentor Model that will replace our current live Zoom sessions. This new model will launch the week of March 10, 2025.
The Mentor Model will consist of creating and reviewing individual student goals with their homeroom teacher during the first week. This meeting will take approximately twenty-five minutes and be conducted over Zoom. While your presence is welcome and encouraged at this meeting, it is not required. In the following weeks, students will have a 15 minute check-in with their homeroom teacher to review attendance and academic progress, either on a weekly basis or bi-weekly basis based on the student’s progress. We will then hold another goal review after four weeks. We will continue to meet with your student in this fashion for the remainder of the year. Students and parents must check their email daily for updates, progress reports, and communications from their teachers and BCA.
We believe that this Mentor Model will not only provide more tailored academic support but also promote greater student independence and engagement. Our dedicated team of educators is committed to ensuring that every student has the guidance needed to thrive.
