Free Swimming Lessons are being offered at the YMCA of the Roses - York County for SDCY students ages 5 to 14 years old. Registration must be completed in-person. For more information, please see the flyer below.

Attention Bearcat Families: Free Summer Meals are available for all students ages 18 and under from June 9th to July 31st! No registration or ID is required. Please see the flyer below for more information. Let's keep our Bearcats healthy and strong all summer long! 🐾

Students from McKinley PreK-8 proudly represented their school at the Regional Science Olympiad Competition held at Millersville University. Science Olympiad is an international program where teams of up to 15 students compete in 23 STEM-focused events. Under the guidance of teachers and coaches, Mrs. Teal and Ms. Poff, the McKinley Magic team competed against 15 school districts from Central Pennsylvania, placing in the top ten in nine events. Congratulations to all of the participating students for their hard work and dedication to science and teamwork! #BearcatPride🐾

An amazing group of teachers at McKinley PreK-8 recently hosted PSSA Boot Camp, with over 30 students in attendance. Students in grades 3-8 participated in strategy practice, collaborative discussions, movement activities, partner work, and overall preparation to build their success for the PSSA tests! As a part of their unit on density, McKinley PreK-8 students were tasked with using mass, volume, density, and buoyancy to construct a boat out of foil and cardboard that could hold the most amount of pennies when placed in water. #BearcatPride🐾

We recently had a fantastic time at our Trunk or Treat! Our parking lot was filled with creative costumes, candy, and plenty of smiles! #BearcatPride 🐾

In partnership with Communities In Schools, Goode PreK-8 and McKinley PreK-8 students had an incredible day at York College of Pennsylvania! They explored the Nursing Program with hands-on activities like working with a simulation mannequin, swaddling babies, infection control, first aid, and CPR. Exciting times at McKinley! Our Bearcats are diving into STEM and literacy with WITF's Explore in the Classroom program. From robotics to coding, engineering design to career exploration, students are experiencing hands-on learning that enhances their classroom objectives. With lessons aligned to PA-Core and Pennsylvania STEELS standards, our teachers are partnering with WITF to bring high-quality educational content to life!
