Smith STEAM Academy took center stage at our School Board Committee meeting last evening with a fantastic presentation, showcasing what makes their school special, sharing data, and highlighting student and staff support.

To start off the presentation, a group of STEAM students showcased the inventions that they made for the recent Invention Convention Competition. We would like to give a special shoutout to our Bearcats for their creativity and hard work!

A special moment of the evening was the presentation of the Celebrating Families Award to Anthony Collier, who exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated partner in education.

WPSHS MiniTHON Club members recently visited Penn State's main campus to experience and participate in the annual Penn State University THON! The grand total for this year’s THON came out to $18.8 million! This money was raised to support the children and families associated with the Four Diamonds' MiniTHON. Four Diamonds aims to fight against childhood cancer and help create funding for pediatric cancer research initiatives.

Yesterday, WPSHS hosted a wonderful Black Excellence Panel and Career Day! Students had the opportunity to hear firsthand from several important figures in the community who shared their journeys, wisdom, and words of encouragement with our Bearcats.

Earlier today, William Penn Senior High School hosted their annual Divine Nine Day and Meet the Greeks event. The event began with students attending a panel discussion where they were able to learn about the nine historically black fraternities and sororities.

Following the panel, students were invited to attend the Meet the Greeks showcase where they had an opportunity to receive additional information on each of the organizations.
