The district held its fourth Faith-Based Meeting of the school year this past Tuesday. Family First Health opened the evening with a brief presentation to our Faith-Based leaders, followed by a collaborative discussion to identify community needs and establish a goal for the 2024-2025 school year. The GIANT Company is partnering with our district to fight childhood hunger!
Now through March 31st, shop at GIANT Food Store (#6294, 1255 Carlisle Rd, York, PA) and "Round Up at the Register" to support our school district's food services program.

Jackson PreK-8's 5th grade students took a hands-on approach to learning at JA BizTown! This immersive program gave them the chance to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world setting—running eight different businesses, managing City Hall, handling payroll, repaying loans, and even creating products and services.
Their hard work, teamwork, and leadership truly showcased #BearcatPride🐾










The SDCY’s Bearcat Opportunity Program (BOP) has partnered with the JT Dorsey Foundation (tag them on Facebook) to bring Soccer for Success to our scholars after school at each of our PK-8 schools!
Soccer for Success builds community belonging and supports healthy living by getting our students active around the game of soccer! The program is designed to build self-esteem, leadership, and teamwork!






Due to freezing temperatures and out of an abundance of caution, tomorrow, January 23, 2025, has been designated a Virtual Learning Day for all students, teachers, and 10-month employees. Students are expected to attend and complete assignments virtually. 12-month employees will still report to their buildings or use accrued leave if needed. District offices will open at their normal time. Thank you.

Students at WPSHS recently celebrated the end of their first semester classes with a pizza party that was graciously donated by Little Caesars.

Bearcat Cyber Academy took center stage at our School Board meeting last evening with a fantastic presentation, showcasing what makes their school special, sharing data, and highlighting student and staff support.
A special moment of the evening was the presentation of the Celebrating Families Award to Joan Rosario Rosado, who exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated partner in education.

A group of WPSHS seniors recently attended the York City Dollars for Scholars event that was held at the high school. These students were given the opportunity to begin their scholarship applications to their preferred college or university. They also participated in a small Q & A discussion with former WPSHS students who are currently enrolled in a college or university.
