Alphabet Countdown begins at Fabulous Ferguson PreK-8! As the school year winds down, the excitement is heating up at Ferguson PreK-8 with a Kindergarten Alphabet Countdown! Each day, our kindergarteners have been celebrating with a fun, themed activity tied to a different letter of the alphabet, starting with A: "A is for Adopt a Pet" Day! Our little Bearcats completed thoughtful applications to “adopt” a cuddly stuffed animal, explaining how they would provide a loving and safe home for their new furry friend. After being approved, each student proudly welcomed their pet and created a cozy home to take them in. #BearcatPride🐾

Office of Special Education took center stage at our School Board Committee meeting last evening with a fantastic presentation, showcasing what makes their team special, sharing data, and highlighting student and staff support. A special moment of the evening was the Student Celebration Award given to Luis Perez, who exemplifies what it means to be an outstanding scholar. Thank you, Office of Special Education, for your commitment to excellence and community! #BearcatPride🐾

A group of WPSHS students from Ms. Shaver's art class recently traveled downtown to paint windows as part of their ongoing "Paint to Beautify" project with York City. These students took their time and did an excellent job! #BearcatPride🐾

WPSHS MiniTHON was a powerful and inspiring event! Our Bearcats raised an impressive $4,524 in support of the Four Diamonds and the fight against childhood cancer. The energy was high throughout the day, with highlights including a talent show, a calming yoga session, and crowd-favorite Squid Games activities. The event also featured heartfelt moments as four families from our York City community courageously shared their personal stories about their child's battle with pediatric cancer. Jackson and Ferguson Bearcats made their mark at the Pennsylvania State Capitol! Students joined award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, PA State Senator Vincent Hughes, and PA Representative Carol Hill-Evans, to celebrate the launch of the United States of Readers program — an exciting initiative that gives students access to free books of their choice from Scholastic! We’re proud to see our Bearcats representing the School District of the City of York in such a meaningful literacy initiative. #BearcatPride🐾

Happy National School Nurse Day! 🩺 Today, we celebrate the incredible compassion, care, and commitment of our school nurses. From managing daily health needs to providing critical support in emergencies, our nurses go above and beyond to keep our students safe, healthy, and ready to learn. Last night's Combined Middle School Spring Concert was a wonderful event! The Chorus, Band, and Orchestra students put on a wonderful performance for their families and the community. A special moment of the evening was the awarding of certificates to the 8th grade music students who will be moving up next school year. #BearcatPride🐾

Devers PreK-8 Girls on the Run recently completed their 8-week season and celebrated their hard work with a county-wide 5K race at York College! Combining the race with their SEL curriculum, students in grades 3-5 had the opportunity to learn more about what makes them amazing and how they can do anything they put their minds to—including running a 5K! #BearcatPride🐾

We would like to congratulate WPSHS students, Santiago Leyva Galeano, Yuddy Filpo Nunez and Yazmily Sanyet Virola on recently making it to the Pennsylvania Technology Student Association (TSA) state competition! These students worked really hard and as a result they made it to states during their first year competing! Special shout-out to Mr. Gross and Ms. Gonda for leading these students! #BearcatPride🐾

WPSHS students recently participated in the Youth-Led Change Summit, using their voices to promote peace and build a safer community. Joined by York City Mayor Michael Helfrich and Police Commissioner Michael Muldrow, students engaged in powerful conversations and received encouraging words and valuable resources from both city leaders and WPSHS staff. #BearcatPride🐾

Our York City School Police recently held their first Staff vs. Students flag football game resulting in a final score of 38 to 38! 🏈 Thank you to the community for coming out to show your support! #BearcatPride🐾
