Reprogram York Highlight ✨ The School District of the City of York has recently partnered with Reprogram York to offer Therapeutic Arts Based enrichment programming for our students participating in the Bearcat Opportunities Program. During a recent session, our students were fueled with energy and motivation during an exercise training with Ali Johnson, owner and founder of Max-I-Mus Performance & Fitness. SDCY leaders recently gathered for two days of collaboration and growth focused on the key areas that drive student success and strengthen our schools. These meetings take place at a different school each time, and these sessions were hosted at Ferguson PreK-8 and Jackson PreK-8. #LeadershipInAction was evident as they conducted learning walks to observe, reflect, and align practices that support our goals.

Our Student Services Department recently toured several local community organizations in York City, receiving information about educational and recreational programs and services available to students and families. The team met with organizational leaders and program staff at Crispus Attucks, Martin Library, and Voni B. Grimes gym. The day also consisted of a walking tour of Mural Park in the city's Royal Square neighborhood. Their tour, entitled "Fall in Love with York City", was coordinated by WPSHS school counselor, Dr. Alana Barnes.

Using the Engineering Design Model, students teamed up to create a bag that safely carried a set of items as they raced through an obstacle course.
