Free Swimming Lessons are being offered at the YMCA of the Roses - York County for SDCY students ages 5 to 14 years old. Registration must be completed in-person. For more information, please see the flyer below.

Goode PreK-8 took center stage at our School Board Committee meeting last evening with a fantastic presentation, showcasing what makes their school special, sharing data, and highlighting student and staff support. A special moment of the evening was the presentation of the Celebrating Families Award to Goode student, Kee'Maiyah Cross and The Perry Family, who exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated partner in education. Tuesday, May 20, 2025 will be an Asynchronous learning day for students that attend Goode, Hannah Penn, and Jackson due to your student’s school building being designated as a polling site for an election. Students that attend Goode, Hannah Penn, and Jackson will be able to pick up breakfast from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM and lunch from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The door number is listed below for breakfast and lunch pick up according to school. Goode – Door 15 Hannah Penn – Door 13 Jackson – Door 4 All other school buildings will follow their regular schedule.

In partnership with Communities In Schools, Goode PreK-8 and McKinley PreK-8 students had an incredible day at York College of Pennsylvania! They explored the Nursing Program with hands-on activities like working with a simulation mannequin, swaddling babies, infection control, first aid, and CPR. Bearcat Families: Beginning July 29th, through August 16th, the School District of the City of York will be holding open student enrollment at the district administrative office located at 31 N. Pershing Avenue, during the hours of 8:30am through 3:30pm. According to the PA Department of Education, any student who will be 6 years of age or older by August 31, 2024, should be enrolled in public or private school. Students who will be 5 years of age by August 31st may be admitted to Kindergarten. Parents/Guardians should bring proof of residency, immunizations and legal verification of the student’s age. The application may also be completed online from the comfort of your home, in your preferred language, by visiting our district website. Families who need assistance with the immunization process may sign up for our vaccination camp. Information for this will be available at registration and is on the district’s website.
