WPSHS recently hosted their annual Meet the Divine Nine Event. The event began with a panel discussion that WPSHS students were able to attend and learn about historically black sororities & fraternities. Students had the opportunity to meet and interact with the panelists to receive more information on how they can become a member of one of these organizations in the future. #BearcatPride🐾

WPSHS STEAM Academy students recently took part in multiple activities centered around promoting environmental stability including a mock oil spill lab, an environmental racism discovery map activity using ratios and proportions, an art project engaging scholars in supporting positive well-being, sustainable food discussion and recipe, and planting. #BearcatPride🐾

Bearcat Families: This is a reminder that tomorrow, February 26, 2025, will be an early dismissal for all students. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM and will complete asynchronous assignments the remainder portion of the school day.

Jackson PreK-8 Bearcats are absolutely buzzing with excitement over their new books! We would like to thank The United States of Readers, a reading program that is designed for students in grades PreK through 8, for putting the magic of reading right into the hands of both little and big readers alike! 🐾

Smith STEAM Academy's Black History Month Celebration was a wonderful event! From dancing to spoken word, STEAM students and staff enjoyed the performances. #BearcatPride🐾

WPSHS recently held a Men of Color Panel Discussion, where five WPSHS staff members were asked questions by Dr. Little regarding their experiences in life as a man of color. A group of WPSHS students attended this event and were also able to ask the panelists questions about their own experiences in life. #BearcatPride🐾

Jackson PreK-8 took center stage at our School Board meeting last evening with a fantastic presentation, showcasing what makes their school special, sharing data, and highlighting student and staff support. A special moment of the evening was the presentation of the Celebrating Families Award to The Mable-Grier Family, who exemplifies what it means to be a dedicated partner in education. To celebrate Black History Month, WPSHS students joined Mrs. Little for a Women & Girls in Science event, exploring natural ingredients like shea butter and aloe vera. They then crafted their own body butters, hair products, and lip balms. #BearcatPride🐾
