WPSHS MiniTHON was a powerful and inspiring event! Our Bearcats raised an impressive $4,524 in support of the Four Diamonds and the fight against childhood cancer. The energy was high throughout the day, with highlights including a talent show, a calming yoga session, and crowd-favorite Squid Games activities. The event also featured heartfelt moments as four families from our York City community courageously shared their personal stories about their child's battle with pediatric cancer. Jackson and Ferguson Bearcats made their mark at the Pennsylvania State Capitol! Students joined award-winning actress Sheryl Lee Ralph, PA State Senator Vincent Hughes, and PA Representative Carol Hill-Evans, to celebrate the launch of the United States of Readers program — an exciting initiative that gives students access to free books of their choice from Scholastic! We’re proud to see our Bearcats representing the School District of the City of York in such a meaningful literacy initiative. #BearcatPride🐾

Happy National School Nurse Day! 🩺 Today, we celebrate the incredible compassion, care, and commitment of our school nurses. From managing daily health needs to providing critical support in emergencies, our nurses go above and beyond to keep our students safe, healthy, and ready to learn. Your impact reaches far beyond the nurse's office! #BearcatPride🐾

Last night's Combined Middle School Spring Concert was a wonderful event! The Chorus, Band, and Orchestra students put on a wonderful performance for their families and the community. A special moment of the evening was the awarding of certificates to the 8th grade music students who will be moving up next school year. #BearcatPride🐾

Devers PreK-8 Girls on the Run recently completed their 8-week season and celebrated their hard work with a county-wide 5K race at York College! Combining the race with their SEL curriculum, students in grades 3-5 had the opportunity to learn more about what makes them amazing and how they can do anything they put their minds to—including running a 5K! #BearcatPride🐾

We would like to congratulate WPSHS students, Santiago Leyva Galeano, Yuddy Filpo Nunez and Yazmily Sanyet Virola on recently making it to the Pennsylvania Technology Student Association (TSA) state competition! These students worked really hard and as a result they made it to states during their first year competing! Special shout-out to Mr. Gross and Ms. Gonda for leading these students! #BearcatPride🐾

WPSHS students recently participated in the Youth-Led Change Summit, using their voices to promote peace and build a safer community. Joined by York City Mayor Michael Helfrich and Police Commissioner Michael Muldrow, students engaged in powerful conversations and received encouraging words and valuable resources from both city leaders and WPSHS staff. #BearcatPride🐾

Our York City School Police recently held their first Staff vs. Students flag football game resulting in a final score of 38 to 38! 🏈 Thank you to the community for coming out to show your support! #BearcatPride🐾

Devers PreK-8 students were all smiles this morning as they received two pairs of socks and a brand new pair of sneakers from Operation Warm, a nonprofit organization that provides young people with coats and shoes. #BearcatPride🐾

What a night! William Penn Senior High School's Concert Choir and Singers brought the house down with their Spring Concert, Music from Stage and Screen! From Broadway hits to movie favorites, the talent on display lit up the auditorium. #BearcatPride🐾

🎉 Get Ready for the First-Ever District-Wide Field Day! 🎉 Open to students in grades 5-8. We're bringing the fun, the competition, and the school spirit to a whole new level! 🏅 Sign up with your teacher to compete – you can join more than one event! 🎟 All students must return signed permission slips to participate. 🚍 Transportation will be provided. 🎉 Fun, prizes, music, and friendly competition!

Despite the soggy weather, WPSHS Environmental Science students made a big impact at Go Green in the City! They taught the community about oil spills and how we can all make a difference for the environment right here in York. #BearcatPride🐾
