In honor of Read Across America Week, Ms. Drumm's class at Hannah Penn PreK-8 has been reading a Dr. Seuss book every morning to practice fine motor skills and following directions. After the reading, the class completes a corresponding craft. One of the crafts that the students recently made was a Dr. Seuss themed bulletin board.

The SDCY Faith-Based Leaders Group would like to invite local community members to participate in our Hygiene Drive. Access to essential hygiene products support students' confidence, well-being, and focus in school, helping them to thrive academically and personally. The Hygiene Drive will run until Monday, March 24, 2025.
If you are interested in donating any hygiene products, please drop your donations off at the Central Administration building located at 31 North Pershing Avenue, York, PA 17401.

WPSHS students recently visited Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) to participate in their Engineering Day. Students were able to learn from industry leaders, participate in hands-on activities, and explore career opportunities.

The School District of the City of York PreK-12 Visual Arts Department invites you to attend their First Friday Youth Art Event celebrating Youth Art Month on Friday, March 7, 2025. This art show will feature a small collection of works from each PreK-8 School in addition to artwork from the William Penn Senior High School. Please see the flyer below for more details. 🌟 Celebrating National SEL Day! 🌟
This Monday, March 3rd, we recognize National Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Day, a time to highlight the importance of building strong relationships, fostering emotional intelligence, and creating a culture of empathy in our schools. This month’s district theme is "Finding Common Ground – Resolving Conflicts Peacefully."
Davis Kindergarten Bearcats in Mrs. Garr's class participated in restorative circles, which are a daily practice in their classroom. Students share about their weekends while passing the watermelon, practice mindfulness with belly breathing, and spread kindness by writing positive notes to classmates. These activities foster connection and community!

WPSHS recently hosted their annual Meet the Divine Nine Event. The event began with a panel discussion that WPSHS students were able to attend and learn about historically black sororities & fraternities. Students had the opportunity to meet and interact with the panelists to receive more information on how they can become a member of one of these organizations in the future.

WPSHS STEAM Academy students recently took part in multiple activities centered around promoting environmental stability including a mock oil spill lab, an environmental racism discovery map activity using ratios and proportions, an art project engaging scholars in supporting positive well-being, sustainable food discussion and recipe, and planting.

Bearcat Families: This is a reminder that tomorrow, February 26, 2025, will be an early dismissal for all students. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM and will complete asynchronous assignments the remainder portion of the school day.



Jackson PreK-8 Bearcats are absolutely buzzing with excitement over their new books! We would like to thank The United States of Readers, a reading program that is designed for students in grades PreK through 8, for putting the magic of reading right into the hands of both little and big readers alike! 🐾
