Students recently participated in a district-wide STEAM challenge in which they were tasked with building the tallest paper towel tower using origami folds and minimal supplies. Students from every school were enthusiastically engaged. Congratulations to Jackson Bearcats for winning first place followed by Devers in second place! #BearcatPride 🐾
The School District of the City of York would like to congratulate two of our William Penn seniors, Marlon and Esmeralda, on recently being selected for the Optimist International Youth Appreciation Day! Both students had a chance to meet lawyers, judges, probation, and law enforcement personnel throughout the day.

Bearcat Families: This is an important reminder that there will be no school for all students on Monday, October 28, 2024, to allow staff to participate in professional development. Last evening, our Faith-Based Leaders finalized a mission statement to guide our efforts in supporting SDCY students and families. We're excited to continue working together to address our community's needs!

In partnership with Communities In Schools, Goode PreK-8 and McKinley PreK-8 students had an incredible day at York College of Pennsylvania! They explored the Nursing Program with hands-on activities like working with a simulation mannequin, swaddling babies, infection control, first aid, and CPR.

Bearcat Families: This is a reminder that tomorrow, October 23, 2024 will be an early dismissal day for all students. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM. Students will complete asynchronous assignments the remainder portion of the school day. Thank you.
The School District of the City of York would like to thank Clean the World and Amazon for their generous donation of bookbags for our Bearcats. The district received over 450 bookbags that were filled with school supplies! We were able to distribute bookbags to each of our school buildings.
